Namaste & Welcome to 5th Element Yoga
Our intention is to provide students with the highest quality of authentic yoga instruction while making a contribution to the world through service, growth, and yoga. Through a holistic and whole practice, classical and authentic yoga not only unites the physical and stress relieving benefits of the body and mind, its practice also illuminates our self awareness, discovery, and fulfillment in each moment of our lives. Cultivating lasting contentment, serenity, and holistic fitness, yoga embodies balance on every level and embraces all faiths. Our smaller and semi-private classes offer surprisingly comparable prices to most studios, and are taught within a supportive, personal, and distraction-free environment. We also offer yoga therapy services, massage therapy, and 30 day yoga teacher training programs registered with the Yoga Alliance. 3% of our class proceeds are donated to the Lift a Spirit Foundation charities each month.
Who is 5th Element Yoga?
There are so many different "styles" of yoga out there these days and with the current fitness craze, it can be difficult to determine which one is right for you. Many popular styles of asana practice are actually styles developed from hatha yoga that have been designed by well known masters or modern teachers. Although these styles may have differences, all are derived from the same roots of the yoga tree and share the same goals.
5th Element Yoga strives to maintain the integrity of classical and ancient yoga philosophy, while integrating modern and practical technique, various styles, form and alignment, and injury prevention.
Heartsaver CPR Certified and registered with the Yoga Alliance, the national association that sets the standards for yoga instructors and approved schools.

About the Gift of Yoga
Yoga is an ancient scientific system that originated in India, but pre-dates Hinduism. Its many gifts range from easing stress and depression, to healing the body from injury and preventing dis-ease in the body/mind. It embraces all faiths without discrimination, and provides us with the tools to heal, grow, and relax in our ever demanding environment.
Traditionally, asana (the well known physical practice of yoga) has been practiced for various reasons. Many of which are essential for maintaining health, vitality, and preparing the body/mind for long periods of meditation. Creating space and extension in the body, as well as releasing tension, are the foundations from which many physical benefits of yoga are realized. For centuries, ancient yogis and spiritual teachers have used this knowledge and science to heal students holistically, both physically and mentally.
Hatha Yoga is the most commonly practiced style of yoga. In fact, it is the foundation of all other styles. Hatha incorporates asanas (postures), pranayama (regulated breathing), dharana & dhyana (meditation), and kundalini (Laya yoga) into a complete system that can be used as a source of exercise, stress management, and mind/body/spirit awareness. Hatha postures are approached with a calm, meditative mindset. The goal is to become inwardly aware and to be consciously present as the body performs a series of poses selected for practice.
